Kalispell Silver Spike Presentation

September 14 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

A historical timeline for the Kalispell Silver Spike, first driven on New Year’s Day in 1892 at 12:53pm to commemorate the very first locomotive arriving in Kalispell. The Great Northern Railroad chose the area of current day Kalispell as their division point for their St. Paul to the Pacific Ocean railroad project. The town of Kalispell was created for that purpose and the Silver Spike is the one physical item that was created to commemorate that.
